Supply and Demand of Special Education Personnel
This section includes statistical information and commentary about supply and demand issues pertaining to special education teachers and related service personnel.

Recruitment and Retention of Professional Candidates
This section includes documents about the recruitment of individuals into special education programs and the support of students through their program. Particular attention is given to supporting nontraditional students. Strategies and approaches, as well as their outcomes, are described.

Models for Preparing Culturally Responsive Special Education Personnel
In this section we provide descriptions of personnel preparation programs that are culturally and linguistically responsive.

Program Content that Fosters Culturally Relevant Pedagogy
In this section, we provide resources that describe curriculum, specific learning tasks, assignments, and practices. In general, these resources focus on how higher education faculty can prepare future professionals to use methods and techniques that are successful with culturally diverse populations of students.

Field Experience Models
These resources provide descriptions of field experiences approaches, models, and assignments that have been effective for use with future special education professionals. Discussions of challenges, barriers, and accomplishments are also included.

Mentoring and Induction for Special Educators and Related Service Personnel
This section offers articles and other resources that describe induction programs and mentoring approaches for beginning professionals who work with students with disabilities. Included are mentoring and induction programs that involve a college or university in the partnership. The section also includes discussions of the various challenges associated with this work.

Working with Paraprofessionals
Both preparing future paraprofessionals and preparing future special education teachers to work with paraprofessionals are challenging tasks for higher education faculty. This section includes resources that focus on this important aspect of our work.

Working with Families, Community Members, and School-Based Professionals.
Professionals in special education must be able to work effectively with families and other school-based professionals. This section provides resources on how higher education faculty can improve this dimension of their programs.

Professional Candidate Assessment
The resources in this section focus on assessing professional candidates' performance. The various documents include descriptions of assessment procedures and routines as well as discussions of the various issues surrounding this aspect of personnel preparation. We categorize these resources in the following way: (a) standards-based assessment systems; (b) high stakes exams; and (c) a specific focus on the challenges of measuring dispositions.

Policies
This section includes papers and statements written about the policies, procedures, goals, and concerns of both governmental and nongovernmental agencies (e.g., CEC, NCATE) with respect to personnel preparation for individuals who aim to work with students with disabilities

Monarch Center Product Brochure, 2007
The Monarch Center offers a wide variety of products to support grant proposal development and program development and enhancement at MIHEs. While some products are available exclusively to MIHE faculty, others are disseminated freely upon request. Limitations are described in the brochure.
