Mathematics, Science -- Hearing Impairment
CLEARINGHOUSE ON MATHEMATICS, ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE (COMETS), Rochester Institute of Technology - Resources on mathematics, technology, and science education for hearing students and students who are deaf. The web site includes informational pages and complete online workshops on a variety of topics that can be used by teachers, in preservice teacher preparation courses as lessons, or in professional development programs for teachers interested in renewing certification. COMETS is taking a systemic reform approach to enhancing science and math education for students who are deaf.

Remedial Mathematics
TOOLS FOR UNDERSTANDING, University of Puget Sound - A web site for educators who teach mathematics and are interested in integrating common technologies, ranging from calculators, to paper/pencil, to spreadsheets and word processors. The target audience particularly includes those who teach remedial math and secondary-level special education groups. The site conveys three main strands: (a) Math Concepts, covering topics commonly taught at the late elementary and middle school levels; (b) Integrated Lessons, with two examples of how students work a problem-solving exercise from beginning to end; and (c) Journaling, a developmental model for incorporating writing into a math class.
