The Center on Personnel Studies in Special Education (COPSSE) seeks to enhance classroom practice and improve outcomes for
students with disabilities by undertaking a rigorous research agenda that addresses special education personnel issues.
COPSSE research — which is available in their online library — provides insights into chronic and pressing special education issues
related to beginning teacher quality, effective initial preparation, and the effects of preparation alternatives.
COPSSE
The National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE) operates for the purpose of providing services to state agencies to facilitate their efforts to maximize educational outcomes
for individuals with disabilities. NASDSE accomplishes its goals by establishing and maintaining relations between those responsible for
the development of statewide and federal special education programs and those responsible for general curriculum planning at the local,
state and national levels. NASDSE activities are designed to provide professional support to its members and others interested in special education.
NASDSE
The National Center for Culturally Responsive Educational Systems (NCCRESt) provides technical assistance and professional
development to close the achievement gap between students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and their peers,
and reduce inappropriate referrals to special education.
